MRI Scan

The MRI examination takes place in our clinic at Várkörút 10.

Our new Siemens Magnetom Sola is the most modern 1.5 Tesla diagnostic device in Hungary. It has numerous advantages that enable us to offer our patients the highest level of private MRI examinations without compromises or waiting lists.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan is a specialised tool in medical diagnostics that assists doctors in making diagnoses and determining therapies. It is currently the most accurate radiological technique for diagnosing issues with joints and the nervous system. MRI combines the advantages of computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound scans, allowing for multidimensional imaging. It is also very effective in visualising blood vessels, including 3D reconstructions, providing a wealth of information without the need for invasive procedures. MRI can be used to examine the brain, abdominal organs, spine, bones, joints, and the area around the thoracic vessels.

MRI EXAMINATIONS

In addition to native MRI scans, we also conduct contrast-enhanced and special MRI scans that are only available at select locations in the country.

  • NATIVE MRI SCANS
  • CONTRAST-ENHANCED MRI SCANS
  • CARDIAC MRI SCANS
  • BREAST MRI SCANS
  • EMERGENCY MRI SCANS

Here are the preparations needed for an MRI scan:

  • All magnetizable objects and equipment should be removed before the scan.
  • If you have a pacemaker, it cannot be used for the scan.
  • If you have a prosthetic or any kind of metal implant, you will need to bring a medical certificate confirming that the MRI scan can be performed with that device.
  • If you have metal fragments in your body (f.e. from an accident or work), please inform the receptionists and the radiographer. In this case, the examination must be performed at your own risk!
  • If metal fragments have been lodged in the eye or around the eye, the examination is not recommended.
  • If you are scheduled for an MRI scan with a contrast agent and have had a CT scan with a contrast agent before, you should wait at least 1-2 weeks between the two scans.
  • If you are breastfeeding and scheduled for a contrast-enhanced MRI scan, you should stop breastfeeding for 48 hours after the contrast agent has been administered.
